A Bit About Us

TREYACRES is a small breeding/exhibiting kennel which got its start in 1961 with the purchase of a cute little red/rough bitch as a pet for their daughter, Dayne.  This Griffon, imported from England by a friend of ours, was Cascade of Quatt.  Cassie, as we called her, was never shown but she got us hooked on the breed and we are still in love with them to this day.

We breed occasional litters only for companionship and the enjoyment we get out of taking them to dog shows.  But all pups do not meet our standards for the ring, so sometimes we have pet pups for sale to good homes.  On rare occasions a show quality Griffon is made available to someone who has a special interest and love for these dogs.

In 1982 Evelyn Hole of HOMESTEAD KENNELS came to our home and fell in love with a rough belge bitch, Treyacres Katie Did Did It.  She and her husband had been showing Miniature Schnauzers for several years and decided they wanted to find a Brussels Griffon and "Katie" filled the bill.  She became their first Brussels Griffon champion in a very short time.  Over the next few years the Griffons took up all of their time and soon no more Schnauzers were bred under the Homestead prefix.

In 2000 TREYACRES and HOMESTEAD joined forces and are still breeding and showing quality Griffons for the ring and for those special people who want to share their home and their laps with these wonderful little creatures.
